We have a positive feeling about this. Disneyland Resort is opening up the timeline at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in the most significant way yet.

Fans are aware that Batuu has been part of the galaxy's history for centuries on the Outer Rim. Starting April 29, 2026, visitors will have the opportunity to delve into various moments of the Star Wars saga within Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland park like never before, featuring characters and storylines that embody what attracts guests to this galaxy far, far away. These thrilling updates to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will allow visitors to explore even more of the Star Wars eras.

Disneyland Star Wars Land Updates Starting April 29, 2026

New storylines will come to life on Batuu, covering multiple eras of the planet's rich history. These updates will allow guests to experience the Galactic Civil War and New Republic, along with the Age of the Resistance and First Order.

Black Spire Outpost will travel back in time several decades, thoughtfully introducing beloved characters from the Star Wars timeline, new props and graphics in certain areas, musical selections from Star Wars film scores throughout the land, and more. Each era will be brought to life with the same care and attention to detail that the land was originally designed with, skillfully weaving together stories from across time and space in one location.

Let’s explore what’s coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland!

Where Guests Will Encounter Iconic Star Wars Saga Characters

Play “The Imperial March.” Darth Vader’s quest for Luke Skywalker will lead him to Batuu. This Sith Lord will be accompanied by Imperial Stormtroopers, and as they search for the elusive Jedi, they might discover traces of the Force around the outpost.

Amid the rocky spires, Leia Organa and Han Solo will reunite with Luke Skywalker and Chewbacca.

Luke Skywalker will explore the outpost in search of knowledge about the Force and items connected to lightsaber construction, kyber crystals, and other related topics.

Leia Organa might be seen close to the Millennium Falcon, recruiting travelers and locals to assist in keeping Luke safe.

Han Solo will also hang around his cherished ship, drawn to the nearby cantina.

The legendary heroes and antagonists of the Star Wars saga will appear alongside familiar characters that guests might encounter in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Meet Ahsoka Tano, The Mandalorian, and Grogu near the marketplace.

The cherished starship mechanic and fighter pilot's aide, R2-D2, will also keep rolling across the land.

The wooded region on the edge of Black Spire Outpost will still reflect a period inspired by the Age of the Resistance. Visitors might encounter Rey at this Resistance camp, and if they are daring, they could become heroes themselves in an epic confrontation with the First Order on Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

Experience John Williams' Music Throughout the Land

As visitors admire the towering petrified trees that form Batuu's skyline, they'll be further immersed in the Star Wars universe with cherished scores by the legendary composer John Williams, featuring themes from the first six films.

While passing through the tunnels of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the iconic “Main Title” and Force Theme will invite visitors to a galaxy far, far away. As they explore the land, guests will hear motifs from other classic tracks such as “Han Solo and the Princess,” “The Desert and the Robot Auction,” “The Emperor,” and more.

Naturally, the energetic melody of “Cantina Band” will resonate from inside Oga’s Cantina. During the time of the Galactic Civil War, the owner, Oga Garra, just recently launched this bar, and it is swiftly becoming a favorite destination for travelers from across the galaxy.

Enhancements to Local Establishments and Shops

As Batuu’s history unfolds with new storylines, visitors might observe some changes to the buildings and shops throughout the area. First Order Cargo will be reimagined as Black Spire Surplus, a military salvage operation offering artifacts from the galaxy's history, including Imperial and Rebel items from the Galactic Civil War. Like many antiquities shops, Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities will showcase a different selection of unique items from its past. The curiosities and artifacts in his shop certainly evolve over time. A previous generation of the Mubo family will run Droid Depot, where they will be developing the BB style of droid. Guests will still have the chance to purchase and create their own droid companion at this location.

In his quest for knowledge about lightsabers and the Force, Luke Skywalker will be keen to meet with Savi. Guests may continue to have the opportunity to purchase and build their own lightsaber with the help of Savi’s Gatherers.

Plus, Favorite Star Wars Attractions, Entertainment and Food

As Batuu's storyline broadens to include a wider array of tales showcasing the planet's rich history, visitors can still indulge in beloved galactic activities. Experience the thrill of piloting Han's iconic ship on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, or savor popular tastes from the galaxy like blue milk and ronto wraps.

Each night, the spires of Batuu transform into a unique backdrop for the legendary Skywalker story in the projection show “Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga.” On certain evenings, “Fire of the Rising Moons” offers a distinct perspective of the Disneyland park fireworks, featuring iconic music and stories from across the galaxy.
