Rock Around the Holidays with The Electric Mayhem at Disney's Hollywood Studios

The holiday season is set to become much livelier at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! From November 4 through January 6, The Electric Mayhem will add its unique touch to the festivities with Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: Obligatory Holiday Overlay, a limited-time event that transforms their iconic concert into a festive celebration brimming with seasonal music and new surprises.

The celebration kicks off even before you enter G-Force Records. Festive music echoes through the courtyard around the attraction's iconic guitar marquee, creating the perfect atmosphere for a holiday concert that only The Electric Mayhem could perform.

New Holiday Moments Backstage

Inside G-Force Records, visitors will encounter Dr. Teeth, Animal, Floyd, Janice, Zoot, and Lips immersed in rehearsals for their holiday show. As the band finalizes its festive set list, some well-known Muppet friends drop by the studio to lend a hand... or at least attempt to.

Indeed, we're discussing The Electric Mayhem. As showtime approaches, the band's holiday plans don't exactly unfold smoothly. But that's part of the charm when the main act is more famous for rocking out than for sticking to a timetable.

You will dive into the story with the debut of the Audio-Animatronics figure of Scooter, animated using motion-capture technology from Scooter the Muppet (yes, the lovable Muppet you see in the photo above). By capturing and tracking Scooter’s performance, Walt Disney Imagineering crafted and programmed a figure that looks, moves, and expresses just like Scooter, right down to the finer details.

Accompanied by top audio engineers (all penguins, naturally), Scooter is trying to persuade The Electric Mayhem to pause their jamming and attend to their increasingly impatient fans. But will it be enough to get the band across town and on stage in time?

Thanks to the latest innovations from Muppet Labs, we’ll hop into a super-powered vehicle in the alleyway just behind Studio C, known as the Lengthy Immediate Motion Object (L.I.M.O.)!
