Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort

For those eager to see the leaves change, feel a cool breeze, and encounter spirits, there's good news: the fall celebrations kick off in late August! With new costumes for beloved characters and delightfully devilish decorations, guests won't want to miss the thrilling excitement as Halloween Time returns to Disneyland Resort from Aug. 21 to Oct. 31, 2026. 

Before the spooky season begins, guests can still enjoy the “Paint the Night” parade and “Wondrous Journeys” at Disneyland Park for a limited time from Aug. 10-20, 2026. Additionally, “World of Color – ONE” will make its return to Disney California Adventure Park for a limited time starting Aug. 10 through the Halloween season.

Character Outfits, Pumpkin Décor and Halloween Fun at Disneyland Park

Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and their friends will appear in Town Square wearing new seasonal outfits, featuring harlequin patterns, frilled collars and cuffs, and swirling candy details in shades of orange, yellow, and black.

Prepare to meet a special guest as Jack Skellington returns to the Haunted Mansion, turning the spooky estate into Haunted Mansion Holiday. Visitors will encounter (and smell) an impressive gingerbread house with a brand-new design in the ballroom, along with familiar faces like Sally, Zero, and Oogie Boogie from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Capture the perfect autumn photo in front of the legendary Halloween Tree in Frontierland or find a pumpkin with a Disney-themed carving at the Main Street Pumpkin Festival, highlighted by the iconic giant Mickey Mouse pumpkin. Guests might even notice a new addition to the circle of pumpkins around the Partners Statue, honoring Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge with images of Chewbacca and the Millennium Falcon.

Vengeful villains seize control of Sleeping Beauty Castle, Main Street, U.S.A., “it’s a small world,” and the Rivers of America with vibrant projections during the “Halloween Screams” nighttime spectacle each evening. Maleficent, Ursula, and other beloved fiends fill the sky with laughter set to a mix of spooky music, and on select nights, fireworks light up the sky.  

For those seeking an extra experience, Disney’s Happiest Haunts Guided Tour offers a unique journey through chilling tales at Disneyland and California Adventure, available at an additional cost with valid theme park admission.

Halloween Attractions and Family-Friendly Activities at California Adventure

Disney California Adventure Park embraces a spooky atmosphere with decorations featuring Oogie Boogie against a full moon, a swarm of "bats" emerging from the Carthay Circle Restaurant tower, and the Headless Horseman statue greeting visitors on Buena Vista Street. 

Cars Land will transform into the “fa-boo-lous” Radiator Screams, featuring “car-achnids,” a “pump-kin” patch, and residents sporting their favorite “car-stumes.” Take a break from exploring the town with a ride on Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree and Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween.

Each evening, supernatural spirits will take over Cars Land for a haunting “Sha-BOO” moment, where the neon lights flicker on and illuminate the roads.

Starting in the late afternoon each day, Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark takes over the Collector’s Fortress in Avengers Campus. Guests will join Rocket to distract menacing monsters on the loose and save Groot. But be aware … they might encounter a few unexpected ups and downs.

Children eager to dance to Halloween music, enjoy bubbles, and meet Mickey Mouse and his friends will be thrilled by “Mickey’s Trick and Treat” at the Disney Theater in Hollywood Land, starting on Aug. 18.  

Halloween Food and More Mischief Throughout Disneyland Resort

The delightfully wicked fun continues with enticing treats, “boo-tiful” merchandise, and autumnal decorations in Disneyland, California Adventure, and beyond.

In April, during the Halfway to Halloween event, we offered a preview of some treats that will be back this fall, such as the Oogie Boogie Lemonade from Smokejumpers Grill and the Heatwave Pizza from Alien Pizza Planet.

Keep an eye out for the complete unveiling of food, drinks, and novelties from Disney Eats as the season approaches. You can look forward to a fantastic selection of pumpkin delights and monstrously delicious eats!

Halloween Décor, Character Dining and Activities at the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort

Spooky decorations will enhance the seasonal atmosphere at all the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort, featuring brand-new designs inspired by Disney and Pixar’s Monsters, Inc. at Pixar Place Hotel and Haunted Mansion-themed elements at Disneyland Hotel.

The culinary teams are also crafting intriguing dessert displays for Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Disneyland Hotel.

For those interested in treats, don't miss the seasonal character dining experiences, where you can enjoy a meal and special character interactions simultaneously. Watch for reservation openings later this summer.

At Disney’s Grand Californian, Storytellers Cafe will feature Mickey’s Autumn Adventures for breakfast and brunch and Clarabelle’s Enchanted Halloween Dinner in the evenings. Meanwhile, Goofy’s Kitchen at Disneyland Hotel will offer Halloween-themed dining all day long.

Additionally, adults aged 21 and over can savor a Halloween-themed cocktail menu at Broken Spell Lounge in Disneyland Hotel.

For an extra fee, Disney stylists at Tenaya Stone Spa in Disney's Grand Californian can create a Halloween look with hair, makeup, or nails inspired by favorite Disney characters, or guests can enjoy a seasonal treatment like the Wicked to the Core foot treatment.

Halloween Movies, Music, and More in the Downtown Disney District

The Downtown Disney District will enchant visitors with autumn decorations, themed foods, and seasonal shopping. The Downtown Disney LIVE! stage and lawn will feature movie nights on select evenings with screenings of favorite fall movies, or guests can enjoy a live musical performance.

Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit

Join Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit by searching for pumpkins with unique Disney designs throughout Disneyland, California Adventure, and Downtown Disney! Purchase a special activity map from retail locations throughout the resort to help in the search, then redeem it for a souvenir prize. Separate Park admission is required to participate.

Plaza de la Familia at Disney California Adventure Park

Honor the enduring connections of family and the spirit of Día de los Muertos with tributes to Pixar’s Coco during Plaza de la Familia at Disney California Adventure Park, from August 21 to November 2, 2026.

Entertainment Inspired by Día de los Muertos

Experience the music during “The Storytellers of Plaza de la Familia Celebrate the Musical World of Coco!” as a traveling group of storytellers brings songs like “Remember Me” and “The World Es Mi Familia” to life. Guests can also sing and dance along to live mariachi performances at the Paradise Garden Bandstand.

As guests stroll through Paradise Gardens Park, they can admire the vibrant marigold arch, eye-catching calaca (skeleton) statues, and a memory wall where they can leave a note in remembrance of loved ones.

Food and Beverage Featuring Mexican Flavors

Paradise Garden Grill will present special menu items for the season, including the returning Chilaquiles Carnitas Torta with red chilaquiles, refried beans, avocado spread, queso fresco, pickled red onions, and a fried egg, served with chips. Keep an eye out for the full Foodie Guide!

The Coco-inspired merchandise collection features a hoodie, t-shirt, and mug, all showcasing vibrant colors and motifs from the film.

Día de los Muertos Décor in Disneyland

Día de los Muertos-inspired décor will also be displayed in a lively installation in Disneyland near Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante, featuring skeleton figurines known as catrinas and calacas, colorful marigolds, and other traditional ofrenda items.

Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party

Experience even more enchanting excitement at the separately ticketed Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party, available on select nights from Aug. 18 through Oct. 31.

This after-hours event for all ages is the ideal chance to wear a classic costume, gather candy, and enjoy select attractions, often with reduced wait times. The party runs from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., and admission includes entry to California Adventure three hours before the event starts, along with unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital photo downloads from the party.

New Street Party, Rare Characters and Trick-or-Treating

“Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake – A Haunted Mansion Street Party” will bring well-known and iconic elements from the Haunted Mansion to the streets of California Adventure. This new street party will showcase several show-stopping moments where Madame Leota will host her lively séance and swinging wake, featuring joyful haunts, ghostly dancing, and eerie fun, inviting guests to enjoy a spooktacular time alongside all 999 ghosts.

Guests also have the option to purchase the Oogie Boogie Bash Dessert Party for a premium view of the street party, which will include a new array of treats inspired by “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Additional details will be provided and reservations will open later this summer.

Guests may come across rarely-seen villains and Disney characters in Halloween costumes throughout California Adventure. They won't want to miss trick-or-treating along immersive treat trails and enjoying a selection of themed bites available exclusively for the party.

Wander through dreamlike scenes in Villains Grove, where the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail transforms into an enchanted world inspired by Disney villains such as the Queen of Hearts and Dr. Facilier.

At various times during the evening, Ichabod Crane rushes through California Adventure, trying to escape the menacing presence of the Headless Horseman on his dark steed.

From exciting rides and sweet treats to spooky décor and unique photo opportunities, there's something for everyone in the family to enjoy!

Oogie Boogie Bash Dates and Ticket Information

This year, Oogie Boogie Bash will be held on 33 nights across August, September, and October. Tickets will be available for purchase starting June 18, 2026, no earlier than 9 a.m. PT, with pre-sale options for certain groups.

The Kids’ Summer Ticket Offer is currently available for a limited time and can be used for visits through September 7, 2026.
