Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort
Value Inns and Suites

Resort Overview
Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort is a fun, retro-inspired resort that brings major 1950s and 60s vibes with bright colors, classic design, and a laid-back atmosphere that feels both nostalgic and playful.
Cabana Bay features two large pools, including a lazy river, plus a bowling alley, outdoor fire pits, and plenty of open space to relax after a long park day.
While Cabana Bay doesn’t include Express Passes, its value, amenities, and family-friendly atmosphere make it a popular choice for guests who want to stay on-site without the higher price tag.
With spacious rooms (including family suites where we stayed), fun theming, and tons of activities, Cabana Bay Beach Resort delivers a relaxed, energetic stay that keeps the vacation vibe going even when you’re not in the parks.

Dining Options
Dining at Cabana Bay Beach Resort offers something for every craving, all wrapped in a fun, retro vibe. You can start your day with a coffee or sweet treat from the lobby-level Starbucks, or cool off with smoothies, sundaes, and classic shakes from Shakes Malt Shoppe. The Bayliner Diner features multiple food stations serving everything from burgers and pizza to salads, deli items, and desserts.
Poolside dining is easy and relaxed at The Hideaway Bar & Grill and Atomic Tonic, where you can enjoy snacks, meals, and refreshing beverages just steps from the pools. Make sure to try the Empanada's from The Hideaway!
In the evenings, Galaxy Bowl Restaurant serves up American favorites like made-to-order sandwiches, pizzas, burgers, and wings in a lively, retro atmosphere. For a laid-back nightcap, Swizzle Lounge offers cocktails and light bites in the resort’s stylish lobby. Prefer to stay in? Delizioso Pizza delivers pizzas, salads, and desserts right to your room during select hours.
Favourite Memory
Every night pretty much Savannah would want an ice cream sundae. We headed down to Bayliner Diner where she could build her own. You can add chocolate, vanilla or do a swirl and then add your favourite toppings from the little topping bar they had. She often added gummy worms and m & m's. Was a fun treat for her. While I preferred the shakes from the Shakes Malt Shoppe.
Shopping Information
Universal Studios Store at Cabana Bay Beach Resort. It’s open from 7am to 11pm and has a bit of everything, clothes, toiletries, gifts, collectibles, and those “oh, I forgot this” essentials.
You’ll find some Cabana Bay–specific merchandise along with a small selection of park items. That said, unless there’s something you need right away, I recommend saving your money and waiting until you’re actually in the parks. The selection there is bigger, and you’ll have way more options to choose from.
Of course, if you need sunscreen, a sweatshirt, or a last-minute souvenir, it’s super convenient to have right at the resort.
Transportation
Cabana Bay Beach Resort is within walking distance to Volcano Bay, so there’s no need to take a bus to enjoy the water park. To reach Universal Studios Florida, CityWalk, and Islands of Adventure, you take a single bus that drops off at one central location, making it easy to access all three.
To visit Epic Universe, a separate bus service is available.
Extra Tip
This resort features a lazy river, which is a lot of fun, but tubes are not included and must be purchased. A great tip is to bring your own tube, they will happily inflate it for you. If you choose to buy one on-site, you can return it later and exchange it for a new, uninflated tube to take home. We even saw a couple of guests use life jackets to float along the lazy river, which we thought was a pretty great idea.
